Panfilov Park &Zenkov Cathedral The Park is
named and dedicated to the Panfilov Heroes
who were 28 soldiers of an Almaty Infantry.
Their memories are etched at the fearsome war
memorial east of the Zenkov Cathedral which
depict soldiers from all 15 soviet republics on
the map of USSR. The Park is lush green area

the bustling sights of the city.

Zenkov Cathedral is one of the most beautiful
and remarkable architectural monuments in
Almaty, standing 56 meters tall and located
within the lush surroundings of Panfilov Park.
The construction of the cathedral was
supervised by architect A. Zenkov in the early
19th century. While legend claims it was built
without a single nail, this is not entirely true. Its
unique design is instead a result of the
advanced engineering and technological
expertise of that era, making it an enduring
symbol of the city’s architectural heritage.

Visit Kok Tobe Hill, the highest point in Almaty,
situated at an elevation of 1,100 meters on the
south-eastern edge of the city. The hill is
